Welcome to Grover

Welcome to The Grover Home, Utah’s premiere vacation home. You are one of a select few invited guests who share in the opportunity to experience the solitude and unique wonders of central Utah while staying in this one-of-a-kind facility designed by the prestigious architectural firm, Talbot Architects.

The Wilson Family Trust developed The Grover Home in the hope that it would serve as a unique and frequently utilized retreat and gathering place for member families. Your membership in The Grover Home Association provides you with free and unlimited access to the facility beginning with the grand opening in January of 2009. The Trust requests only that you follow The Grover Home Rules and Instructions and that you utilize the facility often. Enjoy.

Grover Home Rules and Instructions

- Schedule your visit using the calendar features of this site.
- If another family is scheduled during the time you desire, feel free to coordinate a joint visit by contacting the other member of the Association. If agreed, add your family name to the calendar.
- Your key will open the main entry door of The Grover Home. Keys for the sliding door and garage door will be in the Home.
- If visiting in the winter, you will find the thermostats initially set to 50 degrees. You will need to set thermostats in all utilized rooms to the desired temperature and expect it will take a few hours to entirely warm the home. If you are not using all of the bedrooms, close the door on that room and keep the temperature at 50. Don’t forget to reset all thermostats to 50 degrees at departure.
- Instructions for all appliances, thermostats, etc are found in a binder located in the walk-in closet off the master bathroom.
- For planning purposes there are three bedrooms. Each has a queen sized bed. There are also two sofas that can be used as beds and two cots in the garage. Bedding supplies for the queen beds is provided. Bring all other necessary bedding.
- During summer months food is available at markets in Torrey and Loa. In winter months the only source is the market in Loa which is not a minor journey. Likewise, restaurants are plentiful around Torrey in the summer, but almost not existent in the winter. Plan your menu accordingly.
- Use of the loft is limited to those old enough to safely ascend and descend the ladder and not prone to gymnastic moves on the loft railing. Otherwise, a parental escort is required in the loft.
- Leave The Grover Home in better shape than you found it. You must ensure that it is clean and that all lights and appliances are turned off.
- Have fun.

Reservations Calendar

We have created a calendar using Google calendars so you can let everyone know when you plan on going to the Grover Home for a visit. Please mark on the calendar the dates you plan on being there and which family members are going to be there with you.

When you set up a blogger account, you also have a Google account. You will need this account to access and update the calendar. You will receive an invitation to the calendar shortly. To get to the google calendar from the blog, you click on the Google calendars icon in the lower right hand corner. ****Be sure when you enter your dates on the Google Calendar that you have selected the Grover Home Reservations Calendar. I think it sets up one for your email account too so make sure you have the right one.****

If you have any questions on how to use the calendar, let me know. I put an example of a reservation on the calendar called "Quick Family Vacation" the week of December 22nd so you can see what we meant this calendar to be used for. You can see that you can click on the reservation in the blog and see the details I typed into the Google calendar. When you enter something on the Google calendar, you just need to refresh the blog and it will appear here also.
